pitch black heist

the main way in which pitch black heist conforms to the heist genre is with the use of comic relief with the two main characters who create  a lot of comedy throughout the film. an example of this is when they get drunk and start singing and knocking things over as they carry out the heist making the heist not go according to plan. there is also a sidekick with him which is used a lot due to being the comic relief character. another way in which it conforms to the heist genre is meeting up as a group at the beginning and discussing the plan which is to open a safe in the office. the main characters meeting up as a group is typical in a heist movie. another example of how it does conform to a usual heist movie is when the heist is carried out towards of end of the film. as the rest was about planning out the heist and the members meeting up at the beginning to discuss the plan. the film is also shot in black and white which can make it hard to follow the plot but the use of great characters and script make it an enjoyable film. the film is more action orientate rather than intelligence and their motivation to complete the heist makes it conform to a usual heist movie as they always have something their aiming towards such as money which is not the case in this film.

    a way in which it doesn't conform to a usual heist film is when the heist in in complete darkness and we can't see what's going on. this is used as in the film, if they trigger any alarms they have to work in complete darkness. this is not a common trait in most heist films as we can usually see the action play out right in front of us, which isn't the case for this movie but we can hear them  completing the heist and messing up due to them being drunk. this is a very tense scene as they try their best to succeed. Another way that makes it different to usual heist movies is the main characters not wanting a reward or any cash for when they complete this heist instead he wants his mother to be put in prison and he succeeds in this. in a usual heist movie the group are aiming towards a reward, usually money.
